Introduction to Exposure for Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most frequent complaints of clients. In this introductory workshop hosted by Angela Coreil (Cathey), PhD will allow you to gain the knowledge about how you can utilize exposure-based methods in the treatment of anxiety (e.g., social anxiety, panic disorder) and anxiety-related disorders (obsessive-compulsive disorder). We will walk you through the theory, application, and practice of creating exposure hierarchies for your clients and assisting them in improving their response flexibility in the presence of fear and anxiety. This workshop is taught by an experienced anxiety therapist who has lead treatment in anxiety treatment units at the Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) levels. Angela founded the International OCD Foundation’s Kansas branch, OCD Kansas and later moved to a board position. She also has numerous publications on anxiety treatment, measurement, and design of exposure-based tools. In this webinar, you will learn from her experiences with a wide array of clinical applications of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
