Abstract: The ACT approach changes the context of the therapeutic space from one of finding solutions to creating a meaningful life through psychological flexibility. Setting up this context and goals for treatment early is vitally important for the work to unfold. This workshop will show you how to use the ACT Matrix to conduct intake sessions that leave your clients eager to start their journey toward a vibrant, connected life. You will learn how to structure effective ACT intake sessions; how to introduce integral ACT concepts in language any client can understand (even children); and how to build a collaborative treatment plan with your clients. This training is perfect for those who are newer to the ACT model, as well as those who want more confidence in structuring their practice of ACT. Specific attention will be paid to relevant and practical wording and expressions used, so that you can take what you’ve learned and put it into immediate practice.

After your order processes, a purchase receipt will be sent to your email confirming payment. You may then login to your My ENSO profile to see your available courses. Continuing education certificates are available immediately upon completion of the course and evaluation. Download your certificate from your My ENSO profile.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Conduct ACT Consistent Intake Sessions Using The ACT Matrix
  2. Develop ACT Consistent Treatment Goals with Client
  3. Explain ACT Concepts Without Using ACT Jargon (Values, Committed Action, Self-as-Context, Creative Hopelessness)

Jacob Martinez, MA, LPC is an ACT Therapist and trainer currently in private practice. He is the former president of the Texas Chapter of the Association For Contextual Behavioral Science. You can see more of his work at actnaturally.net. Learn more about this speaker here.
