Abstract: Relational Frame Theory (RFT) is the underlying behavior analytic basis for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); however, beyond this RFT describes the properties of verbal symbolic behavior which applies to the Clinical Conversation in therapy above and beyond any specific treatment. We present an interview with Matt Villatte, co-author of “Mastering the Clinical Conversation” a landmark publication in helping clinicians connect to the relevance and applicability of RFT in the clinical hour.  Join us as we discuss what Clinical RFT has to offer to the practice of therapy and the development of our science of treatment.
